We are pleased to announce that Neva SGR, through its Sviluppo Ecosistemi di Innovazione Fund (SEI Fund), has invested in Vertis Venture 6 Digital Sud (VV6), a fund dedicated to supporting the growth of startups and innovative SMEs in Southern Italy.

Vertis SGR is the only asset management company based in Southern Italy active in the management of private equity and venture capital funds. The VV6 fund invests in companies across all stages of development, with ticket sizes ranging from €0.5 million to €5 million, focusing on key sectors of the digital transition, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech and agritech.

This investment is part of a broader strategic collaboration between Intesa Sanpaolo and Vertis SGR aimed at strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Southern Italy, fostering connections between companies, universities, research centers and investors. We are delighted to announce that Neva SGR has participated to the $141 million (€122 million) Series B funding round of AAVantgarde Bio, an Italian clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing gene delivery technologies for inherited retinal diseases (IRDs).

AAVantgarde Bio’s lead programmes are dedicated to tackling Stargardt disease and retinitis pigmentosa caused by Usher syndrome type 1B. Both are severe inherited retinal conditions that result in progressive vision loss and blindness among children and young adults, with no approved treatments currently available.

This significant financing will enable AAVantgarde Bio to advance crucial clinical trials for its leading therapies. Specifically, it will support the clinical trial for Stargardt disease, the completion of a natural history study involving over 100 patients, and the clinical trial for retinitis pigmentosa (RP) secondary to Usher 1B.

21/10/2024 - Neva SGR is pleased to announce that Cool Planet Technologies, a company in the Neva First Fund portfolio operating in the Climate Tech sector, has closed its €23.7 million Series A2 investment round.

Neva SGR participated in the round together with industrial investors, further validating the appeal of Cool Planet’s compact, low-energy and low-cost membrane-based carbon capture solution.

This funding will advance Cool Planet’s ambition of becoming a leading provider of highly efficient point source carbon capture solutions for industrial emissions and will also enable the Company to complete the demonstration of its technology at scale whilst accelerating commercial deployment, including the construction of a membrane manufacturing facility.

xFarm supports the work of 450,000 farms belonging to more than 100 supply chains on more than 7 million hectares worldwide through its xFarm digital platform, a Farm Management Information System (FMIS).

01/02/2024 - Neva SGR is excited to announce its investment in NeoPhore, a UK-based life sciences company, which is developing a pipeline of small molecule drugs targeting novel proteins across the DNA mismatch repair ('MMR') pathway to generate next-generation immuno-oncology therapeutics to improve clinical outcomes for cancer patients. The company announced an extension of its Series B round of £9.6 million (approximately USD $12.2 million). This extension brings the total raised in Series B financing to £31.1m (approx. USD $39.5m).

The additional Series B funding will be used to progress NeoPhore’s lead oral program, through early pre-clinical development.

On last September 13, 2023, Neva SGR hosted the
"Neva First Fund: Route to Growth 23" event at the OGR offices in Turin.

08/08/2023 - The Neva First Italia Fund, launched in November 2021, completed on 30 June, 2023 its investment period, ahead of the closing date scheduled for August 2025.

The Fund, subscribed by Neva SGR and Fondo di Fondi VenturItaly and Fondo di Co-Investimento MiSE, and fully managed by CDP Venture Capital SGR and dedicated to highly innovative Italian startups, made a total of 7 million euros of investments in 9 startups, favoring the total collection by the 9 Italian startups of over 160 million euros, 33 of which coming from the Neva First Fund, Neva SGR's vehicle for investments at a global level.

On September 14, 2022, Neva hosted in Turin more than 500 participants including venture capitalists, institutional and private investors, experts, entrepreneurs and start-ups from all over Italy and several other countries, primarily the United States and Israel.
